INSPIRATION
Inspiration for this collection was calming colors and textures mixed with functionality. Soft tones and form was important.
CONCEPTS
I explored how a bed could incorporate storage and other functional features. I also created casegoods with soft details to coordinate.
renderings
I further defined my designs with renderings to figure out the drawers and storage behind the headboard. I also refined the casegoods’ proportions and explored metal pulls.
spec packs
I created spec packs for all furniture pieces with detailed callouts of functionality, dimensions, and materials.
sample reviews
We conducted sample reviews overseas and domestically to ensure the final product aligned with the original design intent.
final product
Beauty and function combine in Casa. The bed offers storage and a USB port behind the neutral-upholstered headboard. A pull-out drawer at the foot of the bed integrates seamlessly into the base's vertical dowel posts and curved corners. The bed showcases the wood's dramatic cathedral graining with ivory ceruse complemented by the headboard cushion's linen-like fabric. The casegoods are a nod to mid-century design with charming retro details. Tapered dowel legs round the corners, while side panels angle down to form the dresser's back legs. Hand-hammered horizontal pulls in a brass finish complete these casegoods.
